Peregrine Falcon #2 by Frank Lyne

July 26 - Sept. 30, 1986 - Black Walnut, Sugar Maple, Mulberry, and Ebony paste (a mixture of Ebony filings and glue)

This falcon was purchased by Shadwell Farms near Lexington, KY. It exists today both in its original form and as several bronze copies. The top picture below was taken the day it was completed. After the bronze copies were made representatives of the owner requested that the pupils of the eyes on the wood carving be made larger and rounder. I made new pupils at home, took them with me to Lexington, drilled out the original pupils, and put in the new ones. The lower right picture was taken July 29, 1987, the day these changes were made. The lower left picture is of one of the first six bronze copies. It is my understanding that more have since been made.
